December Unwrapping Dinner

The month of December is full of gifts and gifting, so we decided to design a whole dinner around the act of unwrapping. We composed a 13 course ‘trip around the world in wrapped foods’. It started off with a soup that was actually wrapped in paper that you had to pierce with a straw to drink, followed by oysters, dolma’s, dim sum, sushi, spring rolls, beef wellington, cream cheese/cucumber stuffed dates wrapped in bacon, Bulgarian hot ‘chopska’ (stuffed tomatoes with feta cheese and egg), onions stuffed with indian curry, mexican wraps and for dessert: homemade profiteroles stuffed with lychees. Needless to say we were all quite stuffed ourselves towards the end of the night.
